You and your twin children had spent the night out in Shibuya. It was an important bonding experience, and for good reason — your kids had just become of age to drink, so you felt it was time to show them the ropes; this time legally.
Due to the state of emergency, however, what would normally be a cause for a raucous night had become something that felt as hush-hush as when you took them out to drink before they were of age. All the places you would normally go to weren’t serving, so you called up your assistant and asked where you could imbibe.In only five minutes, your assistant got back to you with a few options, of which you ended trying two. Both of them were bars, and since you started at 5PM, by 7PM you had just left the second bar tripping on each other and belting out “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” in the streets.
Having not eaten anything before you started drinking, you were all famished. One of your kids pointed out a spicy ramen shop down the street. None of you were the best when it came to spicy foods, but the combination of grease, heat, garlic, and carbs seemed too good to pass up. On the menu was something titled “North Pole Ramen,” which, judging by the name, didn’t sound too spicy.It turned out to be the spiciest thing you had ever put into your mouth, but in your drunkenness, none of you could taste the heat.
After finishing up the last few noodles, the three of you left, hopped into a cab, and headed home. At 9PM you arrived at the entrance of your American-style house and fumbled with the keys for a good five minutes, laughing and reminiscing your crazy night, before your spouse opened the door for you from the inside.You gave your spouse a vodka-spiked kiss and you and your kids each headed to their room, plopped on your beds, fully clothed, and all woke up at 5AM with rumblings in your stomaches. It’s a good thing you had 3 toilets.
